On October 13, 1998, I was 18 years old. After studying classical piano for 13 years, my brother and I completed our music studies at Cégep de Sherbrooke; he on double bass and me on jazz guitar. That day, I was returning from my first trip to New York City. I felt like I had the world ahead of me and my plan was clear: to move to the West Coast to bring my art to life! That same day, I learned that I would soon be the father of a little girl. At the « ripe old » age of 18, this new life became the world in my eyes!
Now with four (4) beautiful grown children, needless to say that many seasons passed before time finally allowed me to found DESY, an original music project co-produced in collaboration with my brother, Mathieu Desy.
CLOUDS, WATER & SUNS is therefore the fruit of an artistic process spanning more than 5 years of experimentation, writing, performing, and composing pieces in the studio, but above all, the result of a creative exploration undertaken in 2020 aimed at translating the stylistic identity and sonic textures on which we have worked extensively together, as musiciens, friends and brothers.
